Non-Consulting Roles

The support staff at BCG plays two roles—providing leverage and input to case teams and handling administrative tasks.

Knowledge group researchers and production specialists directly assist case teams by participating in the process of generating material for clients.

Four departments handle the administrative and recruitment functions—human resources, finance, IT and administrative staff.


Knowledge Group

Reliable analysis is intrinsic to delivering client value—as a Knowledge Group (KG) researcher, you will work closely with various consultant case teams to provide analysis support utilizing a combination of expertise and information about that industry.

KG researchers are organized by practice area (PA), with each person specializing in particular industries and topics. The KG at each office is part of a global knowledge network and an integral part of the PA.

Additionally, you will support sales development by working directly with partners and principals to identify key industry trends, create primers and background material, and contribute to the development of BCG’s global knowledge management expertise.

Depending on experience and performance, KG researchers have various opportunities to progress: from local knowledge team managers to regional knowledge manager or regional knowledge coordinator.


Production Specialist

As a production specialist, you will support case teams to ensure that all client materials—document, presentation, or report—are structured to be clear, hard-hitting, and interesting. The work requires creativity, an eye for detail, and the ability to transform unstructured content into formats that are both aesthetically pleasing as well as relevant to the client.


Finance at BCG

The finance function of India is part of the Global Finance function of BCG World Wide and is an integrated function. The team is involved in day to day finance activities like Financial & Cost accounting, Financial Planning, Budgeting & Forecasting, Statutory compliances, Payroll and benefits, Management Reporting, Internal control and policy compliances etc.There are various team members required for this function, which include Time Sheet Specialist, Accounts Payable Specialist, Project Accountant, Payroll Specialsit, Sr Finance Executive, Finance Manager & Financial Controller. The team comprises of people, who are Chartered Accountants, Company Secretary, Cost & Works Accountant, MComs & BComs.The goal of finance function is excel in the services it provides to BCG while interacting with its people, vendors, clients, professional advisors and various Government agencies. 

 

 





IT Specialist

As a very technology-focused organization, BCG uses IT systems extensively. An IT specialist manages the IT backbone of the organization—from coordination with local and global support teams for complete user support to upgrading and managing local technology to increase reliability, security, interoperability, and effectiveness.

An IT specialist is part of the IT department reporting to the manager of technology. This person frequently interacts with the global IT support team.


Administrative Staff

At BCG, administrative staff are split into four roles—executive assistants, facility manager, vendor manager, and front-office executives.

An executive assistant (EA) manages the schedules of partners, principals, and project leaders in addition to assisting with travel schedules, correspondence, and coordinating appointments with business partners. You will work closely with other EAs, support staff, and external service providers.

Facility managers are responsible for office infrastructure and supplies.

The vendor manager interacts with external service providers for all BCG needs such as car service, hotels, and travel agents.

The front-office executive serves as the first point of contact for all office visitors and manages are incoming/outgoing calls. This person is also responsible for allocating conference rooms.


Human Resources

The human resources department coordinates activities for staff such as recruiting, training and development, performance management, staffing for projects and the office, and fostering the BCG brand and related culture.

You will handle aspects of the staff management cycle such as:

  • hiring the best people from campuses and also those with professional backgrounds 
  • organizing orientation for new recruits 
  • development support specific to the individual’s needs to help bridge the gap between where he/she is and where he/she aspires to be
  • staffing consultants on projects based on the needs of the client and the development needs of individuals
  • continuous feedback to reinforce development of the individual
  • fostering a culture of meritocracy at all levels
