James earned a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from the University of Waterloo, an M.B.A. from Wharton, and an M.A. from John Hopkins University.

I joined BCG's Toronto office as a consultant in 1994 after being a summer intern the year before. I transferred to India in 1998. Before I joined BCG, I spent a summer in Cambodia helping local non-profit organizations."
